ICDN members recognised for excellence in casting

The ICDN proudly commends its many members whose excellence has been recognised across the globe this past year, through the following awards and nominations: 

The 2019 Subtitle Festival in Kilkenny, Ireland, honoured Patricia Vasconcelos (Portugal) with its Angela Award.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts introduced a Best Casting category for the first time in 2020, and three ICDN members were among the inaugural BAFTA nominees: Francesco Vedovati (Italy) and Barbara Giordani (Italy) for their work on The Two Popes, and Victoria Thomas (USA) for her work on Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

The Casting Society of America nominated Avy Kaufman (USA) in several categories of its Artios Awards for Waves, Book Club, Monsters and Men and The Looming Tower. Victoria Thomas won the Artios Award in the Big Budget – Drama category for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and was also nominated in the TV Series – Comedy category for Insecure

In 2019, the ICDN honored Sara Törnkvist (Sweden) with its Casting Director Award for the feature film Border and is pleased to welcome her as a new member. The other nominees for the ICDN Casting Director Award were Chiara Polizzi (Italy), Youna de Peretti (France), Zywia Kosinska-Wdowiak (Poland), Anja Philip (Denmark) and Rebecca van Unen (Netherlands). 

The International Casting Directors Network celebrates the achievements of all casting directors. Our mission is twofold: to support our ever-growing network of members and to broaden recognition of the pivotal role that casting directors play in the creative filmmaking process.
