The European Film Academy, ICDA, Filmmakers Europe & Spotlight celebrate the new European Casting Director award with a special event during Berlinale.
On 14th February, ICDA and the European Film Academy celebrate the new European Casting Director award with an exclusive event during Berlinale, supported by key industry partners Spotlight and Filmmakers Europe. The programme features a panel with The Substance director Coralie Fargeat on the collaboration between casting directors and filmmakers, followed by a special screening of The Substance. Starring Demi Moore, the film, with five Oscar nominations, boldly critiques misogyny and body objectification.

European Shooting Stars at the 2025 Berlinale
The ICDA are an official partner to the European Shooting Stars event at Berlinale. As part of the programme, European Film Promotion brings ten promising, versatile European acting newcomers to the Berlin International Film Festival each year. The goal is to help them make a name for themselves with the international press and audience and to build a network in the international film industry.

The actors take part in a tailor-made programme that includes extensive press work and meetings with international casting directors, talent agents and producers. At the glamorous EUROPEAN SHOOTING STARS presentation in the Berlinale Palast, the participants will be honoured in front of an international audience of industry professionals.
The 2025 European Shooting Stars event will take place at Berlinale from 15th to 17th February 2025.
