Congratulations to ICDA member Juliette Ménager, who was presented with the prestigious Capelier-Shaw Award for Excellence in Casting at the 40th Annual Artios Awards in London on 12th February 2025. Named in honour of legendary European casting directors Margot Capelier and Rose Tobias Shaw, this award recognises outstanding achievements in casting and unique contributions to the craft. As the founder of Joule Studio Casting in Paris, Juliette has built an international reputation for her eclectic vision, creative innovation, and keen eye for talent, shaping major films and series.

David di Donatello Award for Best Casting 2025

We are thrilled to celebrate Massimo Appolloni, Francesco Vedovati, and Maurilio Mangano, who have all been nominated for the inaugural David di Donatello Award for Best Casting! This marks a historic moment for casting directors in Italy, as, for the first time, the category receives recognition at the 2025 David di Donatello Awards, Italy’s premier film industry honour.

Irish Academy Awards (IFTA) 2025
2025 marks the inaugural year of IFTA’s Casting Award, recognising the pivotal role of casting directors. ICDA member Emma Gunnery was nominated for Baltimore.


Best Casting Award at 49th Polish Film Festival in Gdynia
ICDA member Tanja Grunwald received the 2024 Best Casting Award at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia for The Girl with the Needle.


Prix d’honneur for Corinna Glaus at Solothurner Filmtage/ Journées de Soleure
Swiss ICDA member Corinna Glaus received the distinguished Prix d’honneur at the 60th edition of the Solothurner Filmtage/Journées de Soleure on January 23rd. This prestigious accolade recognises Corinna’s outstanding contributions to the art of casting and her lasting impact on the film industry. Congratulations!

Bilge Olgaç Achievement Award for Hariky Uygur at the Flying Broom International Women’s Film Festival
Congratulations to ICDA member Harika Uygur, who will be receiving the Bilge Olgaç Achievement Award at the Flying Broom International Women’s Film Festival on 27th May 2025! Held annually in Ankara since 1998, the festival celebrates women in film and highlights important themes such as women’s rights and gender equality. This prestigious award honors Harika’s outstanding contributions to the industry, following in the footsteps of Bilge Olgaç, a pioneering female director whose legacy continues to inspire.
