ICDA was prominently represented by our members at Festival de Cannes last month. And we are proud to report that The Zone of Interest by Jonathan Glazer – Casting by Simone Bär, Magdalena Szwarcbart and Alexandra Montag – won the Grand Prix.
Here is an overview of a few of the activities that our Casting Directors were involved in:
ICDA member Luci Lenox organised “Breakfast at Home“, which took place on 17th May.
On 18th May, 10 Ukrainian actors enjoyed a breakfast and speeddating event at Copenhagen Coffee Lab in Cannes with invited guests, including ICDA members Nancy Bishop and Luci Lenox.
Spotlight organised the panel “Inclusive agents, platforms and tools for successful diversity in film productions” on 19th May, which also featured ICDA member Luci Lenox.
On the same day, the WeAudition panel on “The future of casting” featured ICDA members Annette Trumel, Cassandra Han and Luci Lenox.
Our members and ARDA members in Cannes also enjoyed an exclusive VIP brunch at the WeAudition villa on 21st May.
The American Pavillion organised the panel “Crossing borders: Benefits and challenges of working in the European film industry”, which included ICDA members Nancy Bishop and Luci Lenox. The panel discussed the advantages and challenges of working in the European film industry for American or English-speaking filmmakers and actors.
ICDA member Jeremy Zimmermann took part in AfroCannes and joined a panel on the topic “In the business of diversity and inclusion in films”.
