As summer is coming to an end, we have rounded up our favourite news from the last few weeks for you. Have a peek below!
On 1st September, some of our members attended the 2022 Emmys reception for casting, directing, writing and programming nominees in Los Angeles. It was so wonderful that they included casting directors at this year’s reception, as it gave us all a chance to meet and chat with producers and directors, instead of just our own peers. What a fabulous event!

Huge congratulations to ICDN member Avy Kaufman and Francine Maisler, who won a 2022 Creative Arts Emmys Award for Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series for “Succession”. Avy was also nominated for Outstanding Casting for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for “Dopesick”.

Fellow ICDN members Juliette Ménager and Simone Bär (location casting) were nominated for “Inventing Anna” in the category Outstanding Casting for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.

The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) has a new president. Newly elected producer Janet Yang has taken over from David Rubin. The 66-year old New York native is only the second person of colour to hold the position at the Academy and the fourth woman. ICDN member Kim Taylor-Coleman has also been elected to the Board of Governors Executive Committee. Congratulations!

The ICDN Board is currently finalising the details for this year’s Semiramis Award for Excellence in Casting. Watch this space, as we will announce the five finalists and details of the award ceremony very soon!
