The 2022 Semiramis Award for Excellence in Casting was presented at Torino Film Festival on 26th November. We would like to share a few impressions of the award ceremony itself, as well as the surrounding events with you below.
On 25th November, the ICDN welcomed its members, as well as the 2022 Semiramis Award nominees at a joint dinner at COMBO.

On 26th November, the Semiramis Award ceremony took place at the beautiful Cinema Romano. Winner Kjersti Paulsen (THE INNOCENTS) was presented with our Semiramis statue by no other than Italian director, actor and writer Marco D’Amore.

The next day, ICDN had the pleasure of hosting a joint panel with our sponsors Spotlight, as well as Unione Italiana Casting Directors (UICD), LARA and agenti spettacolo associati on the subject of “Casting Directors, Talent Agents and Casting Platforms – How to Turbocharge Your Acting Career With the Right Connections”.

Our panel presented to a full room and answered interesting and broad questions on the subject of casting. The session was also streamed live to our Facebook and Instagram pages.
The discussion and Q&A was followed by a light reception at COMBO with industry professionals.

Our programme in Torino concluded with a Q&A session for students from the theatre schools SCUOLA DEL TEATRO STABILE DI TORINO and SCUOLA DEL TEATRO NAZIONALE DI GENOVA at the stunning Teatro Gobetti. The students were able to meet casting directors Morgana Bianco, Barbara Giordiani, Francesco Vedovati, Lilia Hartmann-Trapani and Lana Veenker.

We would like to once again take this opportunity to thank our sponsors Spotlight, without whom the event would not have been possible. We had a wonderful time presenting our Semiramis Award for Excellence in Casting at Torino Film Festival and look forward to now preparing for the 2023 awards, which will take place in London.
